How does target size mode work?
It searches for the highest quality that fits each image under the target and only scales an image down a little if that is needed. Targets that cannot be reached are reported.
Can PNG files be compressed without losing transparency?
Yes. PNGs are compressed by reducing them to an optimised colour palette, which keeps transparent areas.
Can I also limit the width?
Yes. Set a maximum width such as 1920 or 1280 px; smaller images are left at their size.
