How do I take a photo with my webcam?

Is the camera video recorded or sent anywhere?
No. The video stays on this device, nothing is recorded, and the camera turns off when you take the photo or leave the page.
Why is my photo mirrored?
The preview may look mirrored, but the photo is saved the right way round unless you turn on “Mirror the photo”.
Which formats can I save?
JPG, PNG or WebP. JPG is smallest for photos; PNG keeps every pixel exactly.
