About Compress Video
Choose Balanced for everyday sharing, Best quality to keep detail, or Smallest file when size matters most. Lowering the resolution saves the most space. With a target size, KittySuite works out the bitrate from the length of the video, so the result lands close to the target; very small targets for long videos look blocky, and the tool tells you when a target cannot work. Encoding uses H.264 in this tab and takes longer on phones.
Processing happens in this tab with FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly; your files are never uploaded. The first video or audio tool you use downloads the 10 MB engine once and keeps it cached for next time. Long or high-resolution videos take longer than on a desktop editor, especially on phones, where files are processed one at a time to stay within memory. Keep the tab open until the download appears.
Compress Video: frequently asked questions
How do I make a video smaller?
Choose the video and a compression level: Balanced for everyday sharing, Best quality to keep detail, or Smallest file. Lowering the maximum resolution saves the most space.
Can I compress a video to a specific size in MB?
Yes. Enter a target size and the bitrate is worked out from the video’s length so the result lands close to it. The tool tells you when a target is too small to work.
Which resolution should I choose?
720p is a good balance for phones and messaging; 1080p keeps more detail; 480p or 360p make very small files.
Can I remove the sound to save space?
Yes. Turn on “Remove audio”.
Is my video uploaded?
No. FFmpeg runs inside your browser. The first video or audio tool you use downloads the roughly 10 MB engine from this site once; your files are never uploaded.
