About Trim Video

Play the preview and use “Use current time” to set the start and end, or type times like 1:30. Exact trimming re-encodes the clip so it starts on the frame you chose. Fast trimming copies the original streams without re-encoding, which is instant and lossless, but it can only start at the nearest keyframe, so the clip may begin slightly earlier.

Processing happens in this tab with FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly; your files are never uploaded. The first video or audio tool you use downloads the 10 MB engine once and keeps it cached for next time. Long or high-resolution videos take longer than on a desktop editor, especially on phones, where files are processed one at a time to stay within memory. Keep the tab open until the download appears.

Trim Video: frequently asked questions

How do I trim a video?

Play the preview and use “Use current time” to set the start and end, or type times such as 1:30. Then trim and download.

What is the difference between Exact and Fast?

Exact re-encodes so the clip starts on the frame you chose. Fast copies the original streams instantly without quality loss, but starts at the nearest keyframe, which may be slightly earlier.

Can I cut out a part from the middle?

This tool keeps one section. To remove a middle part, trim the two pieces you want to keep and join them with Join Videos.

Is the video uploaded?

No. FFmpeg runs inside your browser. The first video or audio tool you use downloads the roughly 10 MB engine from this site once; your files are never uploaded.
