About Page Numbers

Add readable page labels to a document that has none. Choose a starting number, position and font size. The format supports {n} for the current number and {total} for the output page count. A range limits where the labels are drawn.

Numbers are added on top of the existing page content. They do not replace labels already printed in the source, so choose a clear margin. Position values are percentages of the page dimensions. Numbering follows output page order; selecting a later range does not restart the sequence. Check the result on pages with unusual sizes or rotations.

Page Numbers: frequently asked questions

How do I add page numbers to a PDF?

Choose the PDF, pick a position, starting number, size and format, then save. Formats include “1, 2, 3”, “1 / 10”, “Page 1” and “Page 1 of 10”.

Can I start numbering from a number other than 1?

Yes. Set the starting number, for example to continue numbering from another document.

Can I skip the cover page?

Yes. Enter a page range so numbers are drawn only on those pages.

Will it replace numbers already on the pages?

No. Numbers are drawn on top of the existing content, so choose a clear margin.
