About JPG to PNG
PNG keeps every pixel exactly from now on, which is useful before editing or adding transparency. It does not restore detail lost in the original JPG, and PNG files of photos are larger.
Processing happens in this browser tab: your images are never uploaded, and the result is ready as soon as you download it. Large photos take a moment longer on phones; nothing is limited by size.
JPG to PNG: frequently asked questions
How do I convert JPG to PNG?
Choose one or more JPG files, adjust the settings if you need to, and select Convert. Each file is saved as PNG with the same name and the right extension, and several files can be downloaded together as a ZIP.
Why convert JPG to PNG?
PNG keeps every pixel exactly from now on, which is useful before editing, adding transparency or saving again many times. It does not restore detail lost in the JPG.
Is transparency kept when converting JPG to PNG?
A JPG has no transparency, so the PNG starts fully opaque. Erase or cut out the background in an editor afterwards if you need transparent areas.
Why is the PNG file bigger than the JPG?
PNG is lossless, and photos stored without loss take more space. For a smaller modern file, convert to WebP instead.
Are my JPG files uploaded anywhere?
No. The conversion runs in your browser on your device, so the images are not sent to KittySuite or anyone else.
