About Image Size Checker
Check an image before you upload it to a form, website or exam portal. The panel shows the real format read from the file itself (not just its name), the file size in KB and bytes, width and height in pixels, aspect ratio, megapixels, whether it has transparent areas and any metadata it carries, such as GPS location or camera details.
Most upload forms set limits on file size, pixel dimensions or format. If your image is too large, continue to Compress Image for a target size in KB, or Resize Image for exact pixels. File size depends on format and content, so two images with the same dimensions can differ a lot. Nothing is uploaded: the details are read in your browser.
Image Size Checker: frequently asked questions
How do I check the size of a photo in KB?
Choose or drop the image. The panel shows the file size in KB and bytes, the width and height in pixels, the aspect ratio and megapixels.
How can I tell an image’s real format?
The format is read from the file’s contents, not its name, so a PNG renamed to .jpg is reported as PNG.
Does it show hidden metadata?
Yes. It lists metadata such as GPS location and camera details, and whether the image has transparent areas.
My photo is too large for the form. What next?
Use Compress Image to reach a size limit in KB, or Resize Image when the form asks for exact pixels.
